A full-scale replica of Beijing's destroyed Old Summer Palace, set against Shilin Mountain with a big lake, pagodas and boat hire — heavy on photo ops and theatrical 'imperial' shows, light on real history. Park admission is free; the evening Chinese-dance shows and a boat-battle re-enactment are the ticketed draw, around ¥85 adult (concessions ~¥60). About a 15-minute bus ride from Gongbei on bus 1, 25, 30 or 60. Open to ~21:00 for the shows.
What to still watch for
No reservation does not mean no friction. Carry your passport — it is the ID checked wherever one is checked, and a photo of it is not accepted. Where there is a paid gate, expect the counter to want a domestic payment app rather than a card, which is worth setting up before you land.
