Covered by the mountain entry ticket — there's no separate summit fee — but getting up there still means the eco-shuttle and/or the cable car plus a stretch of walking on stone steps. Reach the top by some combination of shuttle, cable car and climbing; the final approach to the Zhurong Temple at the peak is on foot.

At about 1,300 m, Zhurong Peak is the highest point of Mount Heng, crowned by a small stone temple and the classic spot for the sea-of-cloud sunrise. The summit is markedly colder and windier than Nanyue town below, so bring warm layers even in summer; thick coats are often rentable up top. The sunrise is weather-dependent and frequently clouded out — treat a clear dawn as a lottery, not a guarantee, and have the temples and the walk itself as your fallback.
